Residents are participating in the Random Acts of Kindness Project by painting and distributing rocks throughout the community.
The Saskatoon Convalescent Home celebrated 75 years of providing excellent care in May 2017! Past and present staff and Board members came out to celebrate this special milestone with the residents.
Saskatoon Convalescent Home is the champion for the Namaste program in Canada. The Namaste Care program is available to residents experiencing advanced Dementia. It's purpose is to enhance the lives of these residents through holistic, person-centered care. Meaningful activities involving therapeutic touch, sensory stimulation, music, color, nourishments and scents are used to create this positive experience for the resident.
The residents hold regular council meetings.
Meetings are currently on hold due to the pandemic.
Hairdressing services are contracted and available for residents, usually two days/week.
Residents and families may book rooms for private functions through the Recreation/CDP department at (306) 244-7155 Ext 128. There is no cost to use the room, although there is a cost for meals, if provided.
Residents are able to receive influenza immunization each fall and Pneumovax if they have not had it previously.
A relaxed breakfast is served on both floors Lunch and supper are served in the main floor dining room for those residents who do not require assistance and also served on both floors for those requiring more assistance. Lunch is at 12 noon and supper at 5 pm.
Visitors are welcome to dine with residents. Arrangements are made with the dietary department. There is a charge for the meal and payment can be made at the Business Office or charged to the resident’s account.
