Last week we celebrated staff appreciation week at Saskatoon Convalescent Home. We dedicated this week to celebrate all staff as well as National Nursing Week 2020 which was May 11-17. Thank you to all staff for your diligence, kindness, and patience through these unprecedented times. The week was full of appreciation with the Saskatoon Convalescent Home Board generously giving bouquets of flowers to be placed throughout the building, as well as baskets of refreshments and treats for the staff to enjoy. The residents and staff enjoyed a complimentary barbeque Wednesday May 13th - Thank you to the Food Services Staff and the Director of Support Services Juanita for barbequing and preparing the meal. Administration organized a delivery of Nestor's Bakery cinnamon buns for Thursday May 14th. On Thursday May 14th at approximately 10:30 AM we enjoyed the Canadian Forces Snowbirds Operation Inspiration fly over Saskatoon. We were able to watch the flyover from the Convalescent Home courtyard which brought great joy to the residents. On Friday May 15th Tim Hortons graciously donated coffee and donuts for all of the residents and staff. Coffee and donuts were enjoyed by all in the afternoon and made for an excellent treat at the afternoon Bingo game. Our spirits were lifted after a wonderful week of appreciation and show of Canadian spirit. We share our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the Canadian Snowbirds after the tragedy that took place on May 17th in Kamloops, BC.
